Glenn Pettifer, DVM, DVSc Diplomate ACVA
Dr. Pettifer is a graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College (DVM '86; DVSc '94). He is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesiologists and a member of the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management. He has served as the Chief Examiner for the American College of Veterinary Anesthesiology and currently sits on the Executive Board. Dr. Pettifer comes to the VEC from the School of Veterinary Medicine at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he was Associate Professor of Veterinary Anesthesiology and Pain Management as well as the Chief of the Anesthesia Service. His most recent research efforts have focused on the influence of anesthesia on the pharmacokinetics and analgesia associated with the transdermal delivery of fentanyl in dogs, cats, and horses. He is the author of numerous scientific articles and book chapters. An addition to anesthesia, Dr. Pettifer maintains an interest in veterinary acupuncture, having completed the training course of the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. Dr. Pettifer is committed to the delivery of exceptional anesthesia and pain management.
